I have a Galaxy S5, there used to be a option in Pandora to quit.
that is no longer there, no matter what I do Pandora keeps playing, until I restart my phone. I would like to keep Pandora but cannot unless I can turn it off without turning my phone off.
can anyone help or is there no way?

You should be able to just pause it, then swipe away the persistent notification to close it. If that doesn't work, you can close it using the app switcher and it will stop playing.
