I'm looking for G900V on Marshmallow 6.0.1 as well. Any luck?
Thanks in advance.

No chance. If you have not previously rooted on Lollipop... as I predicted, here...

"I suggest that Verizon owners root while they can as, knowing Verizon, they will probably close the exploit off in their Marshmallow firmware update."

.... you're screwed!

(Note: This only affects the AT&T, G900A, and Verizon, G900V, models. The rest of the world is OK to root and install custom ROMs :))

Couldn't have known your prediction as I just got the phone already upgraded.
Good to know.

My prediction was because of AT&T's and Verizon's long standing campaign to thwart users in their efforts to root and will close off any exploits in future updates. This is done to protect their revenue generating bloatware and ersatz firmware.

Makes sense, though I don't like it.
For now I'll live with it and use PDANet to share my wifi with my truck on long road trips. Honestly, that's my biggest priority.
I will miss my other rooted apps though. :(

Hey, sorry to disturb but I was wondering if you could help me. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900I Android version 6.0.1. I wanted to root my phone for a while now but can't seem to find my Build Number on the CF Root Auto website. I saw you help the other guy with the same problem as me so I was wondering if you could do the same with me. My build number: MMB29M.G900IDVU1CPH1
Baseband Version: G900IDVU1CPH1

I look forward to your reply. Thanks

Hello and welcome to Android Central zawaarshah!

For the Galaxy S5 model, G900i, on Android 6.0.1, build PH1, you need to use the CF-Auto-Root kernel for, G900IDVU1CPG2

Just checked. They are all working for me. Try another computer. Perhaps your anti virus is blocking them.

You may as well just update to Android 6.0.1 on your phone before rooting.

The G900T builds for Android 6.0.1 are all identical with changelist #7500527. The only change between them is the Google security patch so you are good to go on chainfire's CF-Auto-Root for the G900T on Android 6.0.1, here.

How do you get updates on a rooted phone? Could I just download it from sammobile and flash it on top with no factory resetting?

If you are rooted you should never accepot OTA updates. You can flash the latest firmware from Sammobile but will lose root access. You will then have to root the phone again which may not be possible so check that you can root the updated firmware before updating.

So it wouldn't need a factory reset right? But how would I check if I would lose root?
