I just updated my phone through T-Mobile, and it added this animation to when I lock my phone and turn off the display.

When locking the phone and turning off the display, the display curtains inward like an old cartoony scene transition. This takes about 2 seconds.

When turning on the display to reveal the lock screen, it slowly fades in from black. This takes about 2 seconds as well.

The Lock Screen menu has absolutely nothing related to this animation as an option. How do I stop this? I have some really strong feelings against the UX Designers responsible for this change. It's horrible and whoever they are should be smacked upside the outside of the right side of their face for it.

Never add unskippable animations to UI elements that will be frequently used. You interrupt workflow and waste the user's time.
