All my contact photos have disappeared since my S5 since the Marshmallow update. I also did a factory reset on the phone after the update.
It appears the photos are Facebook Contact photos. My phone will not sync with Facebook anymore outside the Facebook app, i.e. Setting+Accounts+Facebook, says Sync is turned off and it will not turn on..
Any thoughts on how to get the contact photos back?
    Thanks

Facebook removed the ability to sync contacts a while ago: https://m.facebook.com/help/communit...28796497164750

Are the contacts saved to your Google account, or only to the local Phone account?

Go to contacts.google.com on your computer browser--do you see photos associated with the contacts there?

If not, then you could assign photos on that webpage--the photos will then sync with your phone's Contacts app.

Or you could try Sync.ME, as I suggested in another thread.

Same issue here. This is not a solution - Gmail sucks (horrible email client with less features than Pegasus Mail in 1999) and I will never use it. The contact photos should be synced from Exchange or whatever other type of accounts your Contacts are already syncing with. Why did this break in Marshmallow and how do you get native Contacts photos to sync again from Outlook, Exchange, etc.?

These are all posts reporting the same issue (disregard Facebook sync questions, as that functionality was ended by FB long ago, but same issue):

Android, why does your crappy OS remove features that once worked and then people tell us to install 3rd party tools for what it should/used to do out of the box?

    Fix this bug!!
