Contact list is being updated to reflect the change of language error.

Hello All,
Hoping someone can help. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 that I just tonight upgraded to Marshmallow 6.0.1. After the upgrade I can't access my contacts and my text messages only show the phone numbers not names. When I go to contacts I get a message that says "Contact list is being updated to reflect the change of language error.". As per some other suggestions I've tried deleting the cached data partition, turning off master sync, and removing and re-installing some accounts. Most of my contacts are in an exchange account but some also pull from a hotmail account, linked in, and facebook. Any further suggestions to try? I'd really like to avoid a factory reset if at all possible. Thanks.

You can try to clear app data and app cache on the contacts app. Also try to remove and add back all accounts
