Questions about re-booting

[AC Question]

Today my phone re-booted on its own. It then continued to flash "Samsung Galaxy S5 Powered by Android" on the screen. I put the phone in recovery mode and restarted, but that did not work. Just continued to flash that same screen, so I took out the battery. The phone did re-boot and power up, but the time is incorrect and when I try sending a text, the message disappears. Any suggestions on what might be the issue? I did just buy a Getwow charger. Could this have anything to do with the issues I'm having?
