My old PC died and I replaced it with a Dell Vostro 220w running windows 10. When I plug the S5 into the USB port, nothing installs and when I unlock the phone, only the SAMSUNG-SM-G900V shows in explorer and displays as empty. On my old PC, it would only show this for a short time, then disconnect, and reconnect to the phone's memory and my sds card. I've verified in Programs that the Samsung drivers are not installed. How can I get it to automatically download and install the drivers?

Two things you want to do:
  1. Download and install Samsung Smart Switch. This will make sure you have the current drivers
  2. Connect your phone to your PC and swipe down in your notifications and tap on "USB Connected" - you're probably in the wrong transfer mode. Change this to "MTP" or "File Transfer Mode" (your wording may be slightly different)

You should be able to browse through your phone now.
