Allo

I just installed Allo and I works most of the time. However, the voice part doesn't work. I see SAY SOMETHING and the microphone, but my voice commands are ignored. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I was under the impression that Allo wasn't voice activated. I thought the microphone button had to be pressed

Only the Google Assistant running on Nougat (7.0+) is activated with "OK Google". The assistant in Allo needs the keyboard. Or as Golfdriver97 states - use the microphone to dictate what you want to say. You will notice also at the top that it says "Google Assistant Preview Edition".
