Samsung Galaxy S5 cellphone wi-fi connection

I get very poor cellphone reception in my house. My S5 is running Android 5.0. My network is Straight Talk (Verizon) from Walmart. It is my understanding that I can't connect to my home wi-fi for cellphone calling. Is this true? Is there any way I can connect to my wi-fi? I really don't want to buy a Verizon signal booster for $250.00!! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

They use a Samsung booster, and it's usually useless unless you have good signal right outside the house and poor signal in the house - then it's marginal.

The first thing to do when choosing a carrier is to find out which carrier has strong signal where you need signal. Evidently Verizon is the wrong carrier for you. See who gets a strong signal when they're at your house and find out who their carrier is. Then get a phone for that carrier.
