Bluetooth stopped working on Google maps

Samsung S5. Marshmallow. All updates done. Bluetooth not working with Google maps. It is turned on in settings. Test sound does not come through bt. When bt off from within maps program sound comes through phone speaker. BT works on all other aspects of phone. Calls, music,etc. Restored maps to factory version and then updated it. Still did not work.
Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you.

Maps -> [hamburger menu] -> Settings -> Navigation settings -> Play voice over Bluetooth.

I unpaired my earpiece then reinstalled and now all is working.
