Please correct me if I am mistaken about my understanding of Screen Overlay engineering.

Screen overlay is a myopic software engineering concept, where one app competes with another for top position. So if you have an app running that requires screen overlay enabled, any other app you subsequently install that also requires screen overlay enabled will fail to work and bring up the notification nag, unless you disable the screen overlay of the existing app that is overlaying the screen. To make matters worse, the user must hunt down the app that is acting like a Socialist dictator. If the user has several such apps installed, he or she must continually disable one to make another work, sending the computer experience back to the dark ages...well, almost. No?
