Call volume too low on my S5 sounds like person is far away

I tried to correct problem using different methods found on line. Finally did a backup and factory reset and that did not fix.This seems like it happened after latest update. Help me wife now wants new phone.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you mean that it's hard to hear other people on your phone, or that when you call other people, they can't hear you well?

If the former, does this also happen on speakerphone, or over a wired or Bluetooth headset?
