I recently purchased a new pair of headphones, Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2, that are louder than my previous pair and I use them with my Galaxy S5. The volume of the headphones is completely separate from the system volume.
I noticed that with system sounds muted, the phone outputs annoying white noise where the system sounds would be. This also occurs with system sounds on, but the phone also plays the normal sounds. Changing the system volume does not affect the white noise, but changing the headphone volume does. There is also some crackling at the beginning and end of the white noise.
Turning the volume on the headphones down would reduce the white noise, but I prefer to have it all the way up and control volume from my phone instead. Any help would be appreciated.
Update: Tested on some other devices and the problem only occurs with the S5.
