On my AT&T account, I'm eligible for an upgrade. Well I don't really use my AT&T phone besides for travel, but I'm really liking the s6 active. Anyway to get it working on verizon??

The short answer is going to be no. Unfortunately it lacks Verizon's CDMA radios that it does still use, but more importantly it lacks some of the LTE Bands for Verizon.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks

LTE 700 c Band 13
LTE 1700 f Band 4
LTE 1900 Band 2

Here are the bands on the GS6 Active
GSM:
850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz
UMTS:
850, 1900, 2100 MHz
FDD LTE:
700 (band 17), 800 (band 20), 850 (band 5), 900 (band 8), 1700/2100 (band 4), 1800 (band 3), 1900 (band 2), 2100 (band 1), 2600 (band 7) MHz

Exclusives suck, but its something the Carriers demand and OEM's do. Just look back at the first two Galaxy S phones, all carriers had diffent names, specs, shapes. It sucked.
