voice cuts out sometimes during calls

While on a call, my voice apparently cuts out sometimes. The person on the other end starts asking me if I'm still there and after a few seconds of "can you hear me now?" my voice returns and all is well. It almost seems as if another application is taking over the mic while I'm on the call. This seems to happen at least once a day and I'm getting ticked off enough to consider dumping this phone. Has anyone else experienced this glitch or is there a known fix for it?

I'm on ATT and I've confirmed that I have a solid set of bars when it occurs.

its hd voice. under mobile data its enhanced lte services. I had the same problem, seemed to fix it. Its an issue with the network
