Why are my text messages freezing?

Text Messages are Freezing

I updated my Samsung Galaxy S6 Active a few days ago and now some of my text message threads are freezing really bad. I deleted a lot of content from my phone in hope that giving it more room to function would help. It has not seemed to. Now, I have to create a "New Message" every time that I want to text a few specific people. Any one have any suggestions? Also, pictures are not sending as well. They will fail about 4 or 5 times before actually sending. S.O.S.

Welcome to Android Central! Are those freezing threads full of thousands of messages? That can bog down the Messaging app's performance.

Are all of the freezing threads group chats? If so, then that, along with the fact that pictures aren't sending well, suggests an isolated MMS problem. Check your APN settings and make sure they're correct.
