Had a lengthy conversation with Tier 2 Vzw support last night. Richard in Atlanta confirms they are having bad battery issues with S6 Edge+. Stated they have had to replace many phones. Didn't know anything about fixing OS using PC mentioned in another post. Said they are looking into the possibility of entire shipment from Samsung bad. I am including photos of my stats from today.

I think a lot of Apps don't play well with the new phone and developers were not aware of this. One example is Escort Live, an App for the radar detector. There is no way to access the Settings Menu without going into phone settings>accessibility>dexterity & interaction>assistant menu. Escort said this caught them completely by surprise. This is just one example.

Anyone using GO SMS Pro? On my phone it sucks %7.7 of all my power. Crazy.

Now in other news, while on the phone with Richard, he proceeded to tell me that he was looking at my phone stats in real time. Said that my phone showed 55 charging cycles yesterday. FIFTY FIVE CHARGING CYCLES! That's insane!

This phone is wack!

Richard also told me my current phone temp was 89 degrees, wait now it's 90. Huh, come again?

Heads up folks, maybe I'm late to this party, but I've been rooting and jailbreaking since 2009, and never encountered this. Verizon can monitor your phone in real time, view how many times you've charged it, the temperature, along with other info. They can see if you've EVER rooted your phone. If so, your warranty is void.

On a side note, a Samsung tech I spoke with this morning told me Samsung is offering an $8,000 bounty to the person who roots the Edge 6+. Samsung TS has been calling me every few days to check on how my battery is doing. Told them I'm not a happy camper.

Of to the Verizon store to get another replacement phone. Oh, joy.

I had another conversation with vzw today and was also sent to tier 2 guy. He basically said that because signal is weak my battery life SHOULD SUCK then he proceeded to probe my daughter's s5 and could give no explanation as to why her battery is fine with the same level of signal. It was totally creepy that the dude was inside the phone while I was using it and I'm not really happy about that.
It just amazes me how you get completely opposite stories from the tech people. The tier two guy said the fix has nothing to do with these batteries it was for the S5. Sorry about that y'all, I was just passing on what they gave me.
Today, I was told that they have heard nothing from Samsung about it being a known issue but that as far as vzw is concerned if you are in a low signal area, get a different phone. He flat out told me that any replacement will have the same issue. So this one is being returned and the search will begin again or I'll wait til the issue is fixed.

No issues with mine on Verizon. The battery is on par if not slightly better than my Nexus 6.

Hmmm....last Nexus I had was Galaxy Nexus. My comparison comes from iPhone 6+.

I exchanged for a new phone from a new delivery shipment today. They just arrived as I was in the store. So far I think 3rd time is the charm.

I thought it interesting that the first 2 phones out of the box had a %40 charge and this one had a %57 charge.

I really love the phone else I wouldn't have gone to this much trouble. I really like the Android platform. In many ways more than iOS. It just sucks that some of my work Apps are only for iOS.

I picked mine up on release day and mi e also had close to 60% charge. I wouldn't be surprised if a store gave you a return.

Also, don't expect IP6+ battery life, my dad has ine and the battery is a beast. I hope 3rd time is a charm! Good luck!

Well, there's not a chance they were returns. The first one I got on release day. The 2nd 2 days later from same batch. They were brand new.

You say yours was %60 charged? Really....? Interesting. I wonder if these are coming from different assembly sites....I'm sure there's an App to check for that. Oh wait, this isn't iOS. Haha.

I have a coworker who was complaining about his regular gs6 having crappy battery life since his last Verizon update, I looked at his battery stats and it was showing average battery life of 4 hours - before the last update he was getting 10 or so hours with moderate use while I was talking to him I watched his battery drop 3% in 10 minutes, I suggested he turn off cellular services overnight and see how much it drops, if it doesn't drop like an anchor with cellular services off it could be a Verizon thing with their Samsung phones gs6/gs6e/note 5/gs6e+ since they are all very similar in hardware and radios.

VZW did tell me they are beginning to get regular calls about this issue. For those who have not had this issue, I am glad to hear it. It is a beautiful and otherwise very nice phone. Samsung nor VZW can explain why cell standby is using so much battery but at least VZW did acknowledge that yes it is starting look like there is an issue. Tier two tech guy told me to return the phone and opt for something else at this time because I do live in a very limited service area. In my 12years on big red that has never happened. It was speculated that the antenna is just not strong enough for the weak signal I receive here.

So everything was going fine until about 2 hours ago. I suddenly got a hot battery warning. It said 99.7 degrees. Then when I was looking at it it jumped to 99.9 , then to over 100. Within 10 minutes it jumped to 107 degrees f! This is crazy. I've never had such bad karma with a phone EVER. The phone is really hot to the touch. I mean HOT. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Too late to call support right now. I put it on the a/c duct and cooled it to 88 but within minutes it went back to 99. I checked the stats at one point and it said the phone radio was at %100.

Does anyone have a clue what's happening?

Thanks...
