    Loving the phone but every day it will have a moment where the phone becomes unresponsive at the lock screen or when attempting to open a app. It will take 30 seconds or so before it operates normally again. I can press any button and nothing and then it catches up all at once with the screen doing a few actions.

    Not sure if any other edge+ users have experienced this and what resolved it? Am thinking of doing a full factory reset.

    Had the exact same problem with my phone. Happened up to 3-5 times a day for me though. Tried a couple of factory resets which didn't help. Stuck Google Now Launcher on there to see if removing TouchWiz as the default helped, which it didn't. Also tried removing fingerprint unlock and I don't think that helped either, but interested to know if that might have been the issue - any further info?

    Eventually decided to return the phone for a replacement, which is coming in a couple of days. Bit worried it might have the same issue but fingers crossed it doesn't...

    FYI I'm in the UK, on EE.

    Mine has been doing the same for a few weeks now. It mainly happens when I'm turning the screen on with the home button. It can freeze for around 30 seconds. My phone also hangs and freezes when playing video in Chrome. I've tried the suggestion of clearing the cache with a reboot and I've used app disabler to turn off all the bloatware, but still no good. I don't even have that many apps on my phone nor am I using Nova Launcher. The phone is fantastic, but I'm starting to regret selling my Note Edge.

    Just signed up to this forum for the very same reason.

    All good most of the times but suddenly it will freeze for no reason. Not very frequent but the funny story is that the Huawei P6 which I used to own (which had 1/4 of the cost of the S6 edge+) almost never freezed or stuttered.

    So its really bugging me that for so much money I get something which freezes here and then.

    Would flashing another ROM solve all these issues or is it better to leave it as is to avoid losing the warranty?

    What do you guys think?

    I have the exact same problem about once a day... Works smooth as butter and all of a sudden it completely freezes. Always when I want to unlock the phone.

    My gold one does this. My partner's silver one doesn't. Same as everyone, only happens when unlocking the device. It's not isolated to the fingerprint unlock either as I'm unlocking with swipe. I'm just gonna sit back and wait for 6.0, it's annoying but it happens infrequently enough that I can brush it off and hope the update provides a fix.

    Ach, so there's a problem then. Where can you go at Samsung to get some answers? Their online chat is hopeless, the guy I talked to on Facebook just pleaded innocence and said "take it to a store." Someone must be able to say, "There's an issue & we're working on it."

    Ridiculous for such an expensive powerful phone to have such a basic problem.

    I would avoid losing the warranty. Try bugging Samsung on Twitter, and also bugging them on the Samsung+ app built into the phone. Since this is an issue that is not regularly repeatable, and is not causing loss of functionality of the phone, I would wait it out for an update. OR take it to where you purchased the phone, tell them the issue, and if it falls under their warranty, have them exchange it out Hope it all works out! Phone issues can be sooo frustrating!

    It's just done it again!!! It's so annoying! Nothing works, none of the buttons, nothing, it just freezes. This is the first time I'm disappointed with my phone. I converted from iPhone about three years ago worst my brother stayed with Apple, he has no problems like this, I think it might be time to consider returning.

    Never assume when it comes to your phone acting up. It could be a rough app, or it could be a hot phone, or some other problem. If you take it in, they'll want you to FDR it. I say go ahead and bite the bullet and perform an FDR, after you back everything up of course. If it still hang/freezes, you'll know the phone's bad and you need it replaced. At this point, it's easy because you've already reset it.

    If, however, it runs without a glitch, then you'll know it was a rough app. That means you'll have to reinstall each app testing the phone to make sure it doesn't lock up, then install the next app. The entire process could take days or even weeks to figure out which app it is, if it's an app.

    Guys give something a try:

    I have noticed that since I started checking my phone using only the SIDE (right side) button not the front home button it hasnt still gotten stuck. I used to use the front home button since it is easier to click and then use your fingerprint to unlock at the same time. Now I am trying only the side button and it seems to be working fine.

    Maybe the issue lies there?

    Give it a go and if it freezes while using the side button post an update. I ll do the same.

    Funny I don't get any freezing at all on mine. It runs smoothly all the time. I DID however get the black screen for a second or two when waking it up via the home button. I use SD Maid and maybe this is helping me when it clears my cache every few days.

    I can't even take it back, if I did, when I try to show the technician at the store the problem, it wouldn't happen as it happens randomly. How in the world can we prove to the place where we bought it from that this phone is a pile of garbage?
