Have No Idea What This Is On My Screen

So yesterday I dropped my phone. I keep a good screen protector on it and noticed what appeared to be some scratches. Being that I had an extra protector and the scratches were in an annoying area, I took the protector off to replace it with a fresh one. Upon removing it, I noticed that the marks were still there. I wiped them down and they did not come off. I ran my finger and other objects over the marks and there are no indentations or scratches or resistance, so I do not believe they are scratches. Does anyone have any idea what these are, and if so, what can I do about it? I have been rubbing at them repeatedly and it seems like some of it has worn away, but for the most part they are still there. Either pixels or a crack in the screen. Screens can crack on the inside without changing the outside of the glass's feel.

Would these be covered by Samsung's manufacturer warranty or am I stuck going through my insurance?

I think something like that has to go through insurance. I had a software issue with my phone and had something like that that my carrier noticed and said I had to go through insurance.
