    Hi,

I decided to attempt the supposedly impossible task of replacing the glass only on my Galaxy S6 Edge, and it looks like I only partially failed. By this I mean that I was able to separate what looks to me like like an important part of the display from the glass and what looks like a cheap piece of gel. My replacement glass includes only the glass and not the gel. I totally wrecked the gel while trying to remove it from the glass. So, my questions are these:

    1. Is the gel, in fact, cheap and easily replaceable? Is it even important?
    2. Is this just generic craft store gel? If not, what is it called? How can I get a replacement?

If I sound like a noob, it's because I am; this is my first real repair attempt. Thanks in advance for any help!S6 Edge Screen Replacement-photo-1-.jpg

I think you pulled the outer layer of the screen up with it, actually. Hopefully someone else can chime in though.
