I have a Galaxy S6 Edge and a 2016 VW GTI and I've been using Android Auto via USB connection successfully for the past year. Since the Android 7 update a few days ago, the car won't recognize the phone as an MTP device so AA doesn't launch. I've tried a new data cable, installed latest AA version, restarted the VW infotainment system, and thrown like 4 fits, but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum as a new member! Five fits would have been the fix, you stopped too soon

The only thing to comes to mind is the USB cable, which you changed, and you may have upgraded yourself out of the VW's firmware. Nougat changed lots of things, and between that and the AA update, your firmware in the car may have lost out. I would contact your VW dealer, and VW's support if they have something, and ask about a firmware update.

Mod note. Thread moved to the S6 edge forum for better visibility.
