why do I have no sound using voice recorder

I have the edge 6 and had reset it to factory default. Since I set it back up, when I try to use voice recorder, there is no sound. My mic works, I have sound on my phone, I have sound when I record videos. My media sound works and is on full but I still have no sound while voice recording. While trying to record, there are no sound waves. Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

figured it out. stereo mode had to be turned on
