Why is the clock all of a sudden attached to the notification bar when it drops down?

I have a Galaxy S6 Edge. Just within I believe to be the last day, the clock I have on my lock screen is appearing to be a part of the notification bar that drops down from the top of the screen when I have a new notification.
My phone has not updated in the last several weeks so I have no idea what it is. I have tried just about everything as far as the display, notifications, etc. to make it go back to just the notification bar pulling downwards when there's a new notification.

Can you share a screenshot of what you're looking at? If it's showing as a notification you should be able to long-press it and see which app it's coming from.
