One of the most important features to come with Android 5.0 Lollipop was its support for 64-bit chipsets. Supporting 64-bit chipsets will enable manufactures to produce devices that have 4+ GB of RAM. We have always wondered when smartphones and tablets would get over the 3 GB of RAM plateau… well that will almost be assured for 2015.

In fact, multiple vendors have predicted that LPDDR4 clock speeds will actually outpace standard DDR4, with a higher amount of total bandwidth potentially delivered to tablets and smartphones than conventional PCs will see. Meanwhile, the power savings are expected to be substantial.

As of now, no manufacturers have announced plans to adopt LPDDR4 in specific products, but once Samsung is shipping in volume we'll undoubtedly see subsequent launches in short order. A debut in the inevitable Galaxy S6 wouldn't be at all surprising

That's really cool. Would be amazing if Samsung could get this into the S6. 4gb ram on a phone sounds so crazy.

Will mean more room for larger, more complex app processing. The ram and 64bit CPU's could be great for phones.
