will the S6 have a better camera than the current iPhone 6 Plus? (not the small iPhone 6)

We really don't know as of yet. The iPhoen 6 Plus is out, the Galaxy S6 isn't, so we can't make a direct comparison.

The iPhone 6 Plus has a pretty damn awesome camera. The sensor, OIS are great and Apple's post-processing software are among the best in the business.

We don't know much about the Galaxy S6 camera except what is rumoured, which is a 20mp camera. We'll have to wait for the reveal for the full specs and then wait for reviews/release to see what the camera can do.

The iPhone 6 Plus has a great camera but if the S6 camera is anything like the Note 4 or better if possible then it should be a winner in the android space. Looking forward to seeing what it delivers.

I highly doubt it. Apple does cameras better than anybody else. That's the only part of the iPhone I envy..

I had the Note 4 and compared it to my friends 6 plus. Outdoors in daylight they are neck and neck but indoors in lowlight the 6 plus is WAY better.

all the Samsung phones that I've owned were pretty terrible when it comes to low-light performance of the cameras.

Outdoors, the S6 should prove to be better at least in terms of detail and colour reproduction. Indoors, unless Samsung has some major changes in store, it's going to be another horrible experience. The jump to 20mp isn't helping either, 16 was more than plenty for a phone camera.

My "iPhone family" (interwebs refer to them as "iSheep") and relatives always comment on how great the pictures look that I take on my S5, and they said the same thing when I had my Note 3.

I am spoiled by the S5 camera, and I am expecting an even better camera in the S6. Better low-light shots would be fantastic. True OIS and I'll be doing the happy dance naked with only my cowboy hat on.

The S5 outdoor daylight photos are truly spectacular. They don't need to improve the daylight photos at all, simply improving the low light capabilities and they will end up with a truly amazing camera phone.

Galaxy Note 4 dominates our blind camera comparison, beats a Canon DSLR and the iPhone 6 Plus

Eh, I don't put too much weight behind that. As they pointed out, the shots from the DSLR can be made to look better than those from the Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus. It also looks like a few of those shots taken with the DSLR weren't in focus and they definitely didn't take advantage of the DSLR's capabilities (shooting just in RAW, having it set to auto). If anything, it shows that smartphones can easily replace point-and-shoot cameras but we have hit this point for some time now. Smartphones can never, and will never be able to replace a DSLR or even a compact mirrorless camera but they are more than adequate (and often great) for everyday shots.

True, but I gave the link to show how the Note 4 camera, which most likely will be improved upon on with the S6 is more than a match for the iPhone plus. Which is what the OP was asking.

I don't know too much about the cameras but I have had the S4 since it came out and always have problems with blurry pictures, hopefully the OIS will fix this.

In most situations, it's pretty close, but the 6 Plus still shoots a lot faster, which helps with moving subjects.

I was referring to low-light shots only.(i.e. pictures of blowing out birthday candles or in dark restaurants/bars)

I had both the Note 4 and the iPhone 6 Plus with me for a week. The Note 4 performed okay, but much worse than the iPhone 6 Plus in those situations. I returned the Note 4 back to Verizon.(the iPhone 6 Plus went back to my 9-year-old niece.... how come all I had when I was 9 was a "Speak and Spell" from Texas Instruments?)

I think my Note 3 and S5 take better pictures than my spousal-unit's iPhone6. And so does she.
