Galaxy S6 Active

Does anyone know when the "Galaxy S6 Active" might be released?
I'm still using my S4, but was impressed by the S5 Active in the ATT store. I really want the S6 Active, but I'm not sure if its worth the wait.
How long did it take them to release the S5 Active after the S5 was released?

Not sure how long it took for the S5 Active to be released, but I don't think it will be very long if they plan on releasing it. As of right now the S6 and S6 Edge are official.

I'd be interested in one, provided it's about the same size.

Checked around, "Active" variants are usually released in June. I can hold out that long.

Weird, I could swear I saw this on AC before... I can't find it. Oh, well.
I'm guessing the same difference that the S4 and S5 had with their Active counterparts: Ruggedness. Since the S6 did away from the Water Resistance IP rating the S5 sported, this would come as good news for those who wanted that feature. Plus, it should stand harsher environments and rougher use.

AT&T always gets everything first
I think Ill stick with the regular version. I bet the Active version will be toned down a but when it comes to the internal specs

Agreed. The active version will be dumbed down. Won't be worth it.

How do you know this? The s4 was dumbed down, but the s5 active had the exact same specs.

Most likely. But if that means removable battery, it will please some folks I guess.

S5 active on ATT was the pretty much same phone as S5, but I didn't like its back cover look.

The Active will be the same internal specs and screen and camera of the S6, but with the body of an S5.

Sounds great. One of the things that interests me about the phone is the introduction of premium materials and the design choices.
