The point is, you don't NEED it. You WANT it. The phone functions, as intended, with out it. SD cards are slow.
As a side note, I could see them removing them to remove the performance "hit" accessing them, making the phones seem slow. Of course we know that this new phone has some uber fast memory, and SD cards will not be as fast.
My SD card works perfectly. I have no problems whatsoever playing music off of it. So, what's supposedly slow about it as I use it? In any event, it works perfectly for me. If you don't want to use an SD card, Samsung has never forced that on anyone.
I'm not sure why my "wanting" it is so irrelevant. Most of us have features we like that are near and dear to our hearts and fundamental to how we use devices. This is a computer, not just a phone. If you want to get rid of all those unessential features that aren't necessary for it to be a phone, it's going to be a really long list. If you want your device to merely be a phone, I can't imagine why anyone would bother to spend the money for a high end device. Those types of devices are intended to do lots of things and fill lots of needs for power users. Isn't that kinda the whole point?
