The only way to really tell is to set the screen to always be on, have the same static view and run the phone from fully charged for at least 12 hours (if it'll go that long with the screen on - but use at least 50% of the battery) and note the state of charge. Then change the screen dpi and do the same thing. Same phone, same CPU frequency (they do vary all over the place, even for the same model phone). Let's compare mandarin oranges to mandarin oranges - you're comparing mandarin oranges to Jaffa oranges - close, but not actually valid.
