50th ACM Awards at AT&T Stadium. Camera handled itself pretty well considering the challenging lighting environment.

Can anyone comment on this camera ability to shoot kids, see alot of great pictures of static objects, most important to me is taking pics of my toddlers, my iphone 6 is incredibly good at this, only reason i have an iphone prefer android but so many times i tried different android cameras and they all fail when it comes to kids test... any input helpful

So far, I am really impressed.

The 30fps slow-motion video gives me a little chop on occasion, going to try te 50fps to see if it smooths out. I am VERY happy with the camera.

@aggie, those pictures from the ACM awards look amazing! I've never had a phone capable of taking even decent pictures at concerts. It's always a shot of complete black with a ball of light in the middle, haha. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks. I was pretty impressed and surprised with how they turned out. The only phone that has ever taken decent pictures at a concert in that stadium for me was my Nokia 1020. I wish I would have thought to brought it along to do some comparison shots. My wife had her Note 4 with her and the pics were nearly as impressive as the ones my S6 took. Really enjoying the camera on this device.

Love the camera! Have a ton of good pics from a recent overnight. On a sidenote, can anyone explain what all the different picture size/resolution/aspec ratios mean? Are they higher res the higher up you go on the list? or just literally a larger picture?

The thing i like most about the S6 is how Auto mode takes care of so many shooting conditions.

Night Auto mode:

Night Pro Mode ISO 400

At night, auto mode has the tendency to go for a higher ISO than necessary at times.. You can either tap a different area for a different auto exposure, or set lower ISO in Pro mode, but the shutter speed has a limit on how low it's willing to go. While I can understand why Samsung might be unwilling to include manual shutter speed controls, the lack of it means that it isn't really a "Pro" mode. Perhaps having it not available by default, and having a way to go into settings to enable it if you want to would be better? :s22:

But overall a really solid camera!

I am seriously considering getting one of these for the camera alone... How is the screen in daylight for taking pictures? The screen adjusts well? My N5 screen washes out pretty badly in bright sunlight so it is hard to frame photos really well.

The cigar one is extremely low light. Dark and outside with a dim light behind me.

Wells Fargo building also low light.

Rest self explanatory :)

It's great, I keep my phone on 20% brightbess and can still see pretty good outside in daylight... I used to keep my Z3 at 50% brightness and could barely see it

These are some shots right out the box no tweaks. I thought they were nice.

This phone does well in almost all lighting conditions. I find it very capable of bright sunny days.
