Its rumored the Galaxy S7 will have an eye scanner. The ZTE Grand 3 already utilizes this tech, although its slow, it will get better, and Samsung might make it better

I think the OP has a point. We are kind of at a point of diminishing return. Yes there will be nice improvements in newer phones but I think most people will not be compelled to upgrade as often as we have been. Personally I am planning on upgrading less often as I don't think the rate of advances will be that compelling to me. I use to upgrade every 6 - 12 months, but I think I will be going longer maybe 24-36 months.
I'll be upgrading once a year as usual. Technology will continue to move fast. Next year's phones will have something new to offer. Samsung won't sit still or it will go out of business.

I remember having a S2 on a 18 month contract. Towards the end it felt so slow and old feeling that I went straight to a S4 on a 12 month deal missing out the S3 altogether.

I'll be looking forward to the Note5 and/or the S7 next year.

Are you kidding? Batteries is where to go. Build a better battery and they will come. The current flagship are weak and won't last a full day with heavy use. These companies build these great phones that can do so much and people are now limited by the batteries. Charging tech has improved but that's just a band aid.

I saw a tv show where graphene will revolutionise battery cell technology and also make it bendable. Will also be used to construct bendable screens, motherboards and components. A roll up phone.
I was searching for Bugs Bunny.
