    I'm using the Samsung Messages app for SMS right now and I can't seem to figure out a way to get it to vibrate when I receive a text when my phone is set to vibrate. If I check vibration in the settings, the phone vibrates when I have the sound enabled as well, so I get the notification sound AND vibration. What I'm looking to do is only have it vibrate when I set the phone to vibration, has anyone figured out how to do this?

    Yes, I know I can download a 3rd party SMS app, but I was just trying to see if there was an option I missed.

    Settings-->Sounds and Notifications-->Ringtones and sounds-->Messages

    Turn notification on
    Set notification sound to silent
    Toggle vibrate to on

    This is how I accomplished it. Hopefully this is what you are looking for

    I have the same question/issue. We want it to have a notification tone NO vibrate when it is not on vibrate. When it is on vibrate we want it to vibrate only NO sound. If we use the master settings/volume buttons or hit vibrate on the top swipe down screen, it does not set the notification to vibrate..it sets it to no sound completely. Why will it not make everything vibrate when on vibrate, and have sound when not on vibrate.
