Here's my first full charge with the S6.

No optimization done so far, location is on, location reporting is on, always on WiFi scanning and smart network switch are both also on.

Over night, with roughly 9 hours of standby, I lost 2% battery, with further optimization, I'm certain I can get this down even further.

Here's my first full charge after factory reset and cache wipe. Appears there's a bug with email sync, two mail accounts one exchange and one imap were set to push, happy with standby time.

    Hi all,

I got my AT&T GS6 on April 17, moving from Windows phone. As other I experience poor battery issues. After a factory reset done thru the settings menu, not the recovery, this is what i have achieved so far. I have also disable some google services that I do not use. Wifi is always on as it is Bluetooth, nfc. I live in a very poor reception area.

After 2 weeks of 3-3.5 hours of screen on time, today seems to be a good day after letting it drain completely then recharging it to full. I'm on course to easily 5hours screen on time. Let's hope the battery evened out and remains this good!

My "battery drain problem" differs depending on where I'm at. (I keep Wifi on and Location off.)
If I'm at home and connected to my home Wifi, my main battery problem is cell standby (Google Play Services does not even show up on the battery screen). If I'm at work and connected to the Wifi there, my main battery drain problem is Google Play Services (Cell standby does not show up at all on the battery screen)?!

I've looked into the 2.4gHz vs. 5gHz setting on my home Wifi but I can't figure out what I have. I've googled and went into the gateway/router settings but I can't find it. I have ATT uverse and use an Arris NVG510 modem/router.

I wasn't sure which of these battery threads to post in, so I'll start with this one. I was one of those people with what I determined an abnormal battery drain in my Samsung Galaxy S6 with Sprint. I did my due diligence and remained patient trying to use all the great information I have found here on the forums. I did all the tweaks and even tried the factory reset. I'm a light to moderate user, no videos usually twitter, texts, some FB and few searches. I'd finally determined the battery just wasn't right. My mom got one at the same time and was having a much better experience with battery life. I absolutely love the phone, so this was my major hurdle before deciding to stick with the issue for 2 years. I decided on the 14th day to run it back to Best Buy and do a swap, I even discussed it with the Samsung rep who tended to agree with me. I then made it to the phone reps at Best Buy who ran a diagnostic and were determined to tell me I was wrong and the phone was perfectly fine, until they compared side by side with some other users in the store and it was clear something was afoot. I was losing more and doing less than everyone there. They did the swap, and after a half day usage I can clearly see a difference. I'm %20 difference to the positive. Hopefully these results stick. I just wanted to share that perhaps in some of these a simple swap maybe the key. Thanks

So after factory reset and on third charge cycle I think I've seen the battery life I'm after 4.5 hours moderate to heavy use.

Sigh. THe main reason I bought the S6 was because I read the battery was supposed to be relatively decent. But on medium usage, after 9 hours I'm down to 30%. And when I say medium usage, I mean some bus stop schedule checking, very light browsing, maybe 1 hour of screen time in total (with screen set to automatic brightness at the lowest level). Here are some screenshots:

And on light usage, after 12-15 hours I'm down to 22%:

Is this normal/average? Or is my poor phone stuck with a crap battery?

    Thanks
At least it's pretty, right? That's what Samsung was going for this year: form over function. They hit it out of the park!

Cell Standby was draining my battery so I wiped the cache and fully reset my phone hoping it would help. I get much better battery life now, only about 5% drain overnight. However, if I'm on wifi I still get most of my battery drained by cell standby. I still have a few days before my 14 are up. Should I get a new S6 or keep what I have and hope for a fix? I mostly use Spotify, twitter, chrome, youtube.

I have 2 networks in my house, a 5gHz and a 2.4gHz - I recently started to notice cell standby time when on 5gHz. Since disabling that network on the phone I haven't noticed any further issues.

On a different but related note, my colleague has an S5 and was perfectly happy with it previously. Today, she came into the office furious because she updated to Lollipop this weekend and her battery is getting crushed now. Definitely a few bugs and definitely not hardware.

If your the same person who has about 2.5 hours of SoT with such use (as seen on another thread), then you are doing quite well and I wouldn't be paranoid about battery life.

Just think, with such little SoT Andrew from AC only gets no more than 12 hours of standby.
