Is there anyway to disable location requests per app like the iPhone? I have apps such as snapchat that are constantly checking my location when it doesn't need or require it. Whereas on the other hand I'd like location on for some apps.

App Ops Starter (Root) can do that, but since KitKat, the phone has to be rooted to access App Ops (which is part of Android).

Bummer you have to root to achieve this functionality. I'm quite surprised Android doesn't allow this to begin with

I would have thought that Android would allow per App location services for the purpose of battery longevity.
Every now and then I go through my app list and disable location services for apps that I rarely use. Some apps even have a setting to use location only when the app is being used.
