    Anyone have any ideas what happened to my mother n laws phone?

    There is just a black screen. The phone rings, but shows nothing... 100% black screen. Tried turning phone off and on.. Still nothing on the screen. She got it 4/10, so past the 14 day return. Any ideas?

    Did she drop it or anything? It sounds like the phone / screen is damaged.

    If there is no apparent or,obvious damage, call carrier tech support just to document and do a warranty exchange? Hopefully, if you have carrier inupsurance, file a claim if there was something accidental.

    It was fine earlier in the day. She put it in her purse, the phone rang, and black screen.. Not dropped or anything done to it... The screen just turned black. And she does have a case on it since she got it .

    Ditto. Hopefully your carrier is like AT&T and sends it out FedEx next day. Sorry to hear that happen. Upside is you'll be up and running soon. Call carrier tech support to document the issue and get the warranty exchange started.

    If there is damage to the phone caused by your MIL and the phone just stopped, file a warranty exchange. A new or refurbished device is sent out. If no insurance, full replacement cost and get insurance on the line.

    I might have the same problem with mine. How did you change the screen brightness without seeing anything on the black screen?

    Swipe down from the top, like you would be getting into your settings. About an inch down, that is where the screen brightness would be, so slowly swipe right should adjust your brightness
