    I have tried repeatedly to set up my Hotmail email on my phone but keep getting this error message. Can anyone tell me what I need to do in order to rectify this issue?

    Did you already try changing your Hotmail password, then trying again?

    By the way, your email address is visible in that image. To protect your privacy, I suggest you edit that image, or replace it with one without any identifying information.

    Edit post, go to advanced options and you should see manage attachments.

    Setup could not finish. Authentication failed
    Forget about the Email app for Hotmail, see if you can add an exchange account on Gmail, if you don't see the option, just click here and sideload this Official Exchange Add-on for Gmail and then go to Gmail and add a new Exchange account.

    Only special setting you should know in addition to your personal information and that is; Server name = bay407-m.hotmail.com .

    Well, it seems that you are using the App, just open a browser session and change to display as Desktop, you will see everything as if you were on a PC, in there you'll see the Advanced options and Management Attachments.

    I DID IT JUST TODAY AND IT WORK , EVEN TOUGH I WAS ABLE TO ENTER ANOTHER HOTMAIL ACCOUNTS IN THE SAME PHONE AND IT WORKS BUT THAT PARTICULAR ACCOUNT DIDN'T WORK SO I HAD TO DO THE FOLLOWING
    YOU HAVE TO SIGN IN TO YOUR HOTMAIL ACCOUNT FROM YOUR PC
    CLICK YOUR NAME AND SCROLL DOWN TO ACCOUNT SETTINGS
    THEN GO TO SECURITY AND PRIVACY ON THE TOP
    THEN SELECT MORE SECURITY SETTINGS UNDER ACCOUNT SECURITY
    1- CHANGE YOUR PASSWORD
    2-IF YOU HAVE TWO STEP VERIFICATION MAKE SURE TO CANCEL IT.
    3-UNDER IDENTITY VERIFICATION APPS turn OFF EXISTING APPS
