    My Rogers S6 is STILL on 5.0.2, is anyone else on Rogers seeing 5.1.1 yet?

    It's still listed as "coming soon" on their site, but considering that they were the first carrier to say "end of June", I thought I'd see if I'm just the odd one out.

    At least you have a time frame. AT&T just updated the M9 so the GS6 may be next.

    This has nothing to do with Samsung, they put the update out a long time ago, that's why some carriers released it weeks ago. This is on the carriers.

    I don't think we will see the update till Samsung Pay is ready to be released. I'm fine with 5.0.2 as I don't have any issues out of my phone.

    I am on Fido and received a text from them around 3pm to update my software to take advantage of the VoLTE service - high definition voice and video calls. I completed the update a few minutes ago and I see I now have VoLTE and 5.1.1. I am more intrigued by VoLTE than the OS update.

    Hmmm Rogers devices were also supposed to get Volte but I don't see it.

    Anybody aware of any VoLTE enabled areas in BC, I'm assuming every LTE area works but VoLTE doesn't seem to be working for me on Fido. It might because I'm not on the new plans though.

    Should have nothing to do with plans, if your phone supports it you should be able to use it. Make sure the LTE area is strong strength, a solid dedicated signal for dedicated bandwidth is mandatory for initiating and using a Volte call. It should be avaliable in BC...I'll test today and let you know if its working in Toronto where I work. It may have been disabled temporarily on network side as mobilrsyrup is reporting a bug has halted software releases.


    Update: I have tested near work in a well develop d strong signal LTE area and it dropped down to 4G for call so it looks to be halted in network config.

    So what about factory unlocked W8s? Do they get updated at the same time as the carrier locked ones? I'm still on 5.0.2 as well.

    Here's another text from Fido that explains the problem:
    Hi, it's Fido: You received a message from us yesterday to update your phone's software so that you could use VoLTE (Voice over LTE). Unfortunately the update didn't enable VoLTE. No worries though: whether you updated your phone or not, it will still be working as usual. We're working as quickly as possible with Samsung to send you a new software update that will enable you to use VoLTE. More info about VoLTE at fido.ca/VoLTEFAQ
