Purchased a S6 and the phone was dead out of the box. It would not boot, plug in it would come on but the battery was at zero and only would work when plugged in.

Co-Worker said I shouldn't have taken the phone, battery should have had some charge in it.

I am not a heavy user and I'm only getting 9 hours of life out of the battery.
Should I be concerned I have a bad battery?
I have 10 days to return it not invoking the warranty just for 100% refund though I want to keep a working S6.
    Any advice appreciated.
    TIA

My S6 had about 60% battery charge fresh out of the box.

I would return the phone and get a replacement before your 10 days are up.

Your coworker was 100% correct, never accept a new phone that doesn't work. Return it.

If it was dead out of the box that isn't good. I would contact whoever you bought it from and get an exchange.

+1. Totally agree. It should have a partial charge out of the box.

    Thanks all.
Attempted to return it to the Worst Buy store. Upon arrival I was told to see the Samsung in store rep for assistance which I knew was a waste of time but followed directions.
Yup she said nothing she can do, so had to re-wait for the Mobil guy who told me since it was not activated in this store they couldn't do anything about it. I had to go back to the store I activated it at for them to swap it.
Can't do that without a car so have to wait until Tuesday.
First and last time I use them, all for $100 gift card....

All this for a 100 dollar gift card? I guess it depends on how bad you need the money.
