I'm a pretty long time lurker here, but I thought I'd change that and post.

So this just started today. I just unplugged my S6 from my charger, after charging it from heavy usage a few hours ago. I boot it up, and a minute later I notice that my battery has dropped by 2%. A few seconds pass and now the device was at 97%. I was puzzled and was wondering if my battery life was getting bad. Any suggestions?

Edit: It's 8:23 PM right now, and my battery percentage is at 91%.

Thanks ☺

Yeah get use to it. The battery sucks in this phone. Sorry I'm just frustrated with the battery life myself. There are threads to optimize it. Imo Samsung tried too hard to be like Apple design wise and botched the one thing that makes it run. 😁

The more I use the phone the more I long for the S7. I hope Samsung learned from their mistake in putting such a small battery in the phone. The battery in the S6 should have been the battery that is in the S6 Active. While I still manage to get more than most with 5 or so hours of screen on time every day I think everyone on here knows that Samsung made a mistake with the battery in this device. It's the perfect device except for the battery imho

I only get about 4.5 hours of SOT. Samsung did a pathetic job with the battery of the S6.

I get so jealous every time I see the battery life thread for the S6 Active. I live in Australia so it's not available here lol.

From what I've read the S7 is rumoured to be announced in Feb or March? I will be waiting to see what the size of the battery is expected to be for it and if it is anything like the battery size on the S6 I will not be getting it

Ok my battery has started doing this exact same thing. I take it off the charger at 100% and immediately it goes to 98%. Then within seconds it goes to 97 then 96. After 96 the battery goes down like normal. So weird. No matter how many times I take the phone off the charger and put it back on the charger it does the exact same thing

Huh, it's really strange. What carrier on you on? I'm on T-Mobile and this issue started when I got a new software update a few days ago. I think this has to do with the stagefright patch. I dunno, just a possibility.

I'm in Australia but I'm using the 5.1.1 update from India. My phone company here in Australia is about to release their own update so I'm considering updating to it instead when it comes out around the end of this month to see if it makes any difference
