I just got the phone a few days ago. For me I can take it out of the charger, use it, and leave it alone all night and be at 30ish percent in the morning. So that doesn't seem bad at all, but I am worried about the health detoriating because of it... What is the best way to keep the battery in good condition until my next two years is up and I get a new phone?

According to some "experts" (check this thread and others you may find in Google, How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University), the best practice with this is to keep your phone battery between 80-40%, so it means that you charge it just up to 80% and then don't let it go below 40%, it's kind of hard to just charge up to 80% so I stopped trying that and do the full charge everytime, but I don't or try my best not to let it go below 40%.

I asked the same question about the battery life and usage to Samsung via facebook.

They told me to charge 100% and discharge to 5% maximum. This will increase the battery life.

Samsung is using the smart charge technology. This means it doesn't matter if the phone is charged to 100%. It will cut the power when 100%

I usually run my battery down to about 30 percent then quick charge it to 100 percent. So I'm charging twice in a 24 hour day. I believe samsung told you that to make sure you get full usage of battery per charge.
