    Help! My S6 won't update to 5.1.1 and I have tried to update through smart switch and this has not worked either.

    Tesco mobile say it's down to Samsung and Samsung say it's down to your network, which in my case is Tesco mobile.

    My wife has had the update 2 weeks ago and I'm still waiting. Does anyone have an idea what's going on?

    Hi Mark,

    If you go onto settings and "about device" which is right down the bottom then select the "software update" button. After that press the "update now" then press "ok" it should let you download it then

    Yeah I tried that first then tried smart switch and still not getting it coming through.

    Have you tried downloading Kies onto a PC and connecting your phone up? that way you can search for updates?

    I'm still waiting for 5.1.1 for my unlocked S6 Edge I'm also in the UK, from what I read on the various forums every man and his dog already seems to have the update and for quite sometime, I spoke to Samsung yesterday and they said its all based on your serial number and location and would not give me any information on when I'm likely to get it. I got mine from Amazon and other people from Amazon that bought the same phone have already got the update which is ridicules really. I'll give them a week and I'll just send he phone back for a refund.

    Shame as I like the phone but to buy a high end phone that has software issues out of the box is shocking really and Its the update I want to remove the stupid Security Notice.

    well I am out of suggestions does it say you have an update to download or does it just say you are up to date? try factory resetting the phone and it might come through.

    It just says that I'm up to date. Done a factory reset and that never worked. Called tesco mobile and they says it is down to Samsung when I get it. Called Samsung UK support and they said as soon as the network send your IMEI off to the Google servers it's comes through to handset instantly.

    Sod's law after me little moan yesterday mine updated OTA today to 5.1.1 and I finally I got rid of the Smart Manager constant notification.

    Just got my OTA for 5.1.1 after a phone call with Samsung UK support. Anyway happy now that I know there is nothing wrong with the handset.
