When I plug in my headphones, the sound plays out of the speaker instead. I have tried several different pairs of headphones. I think my problem might have happened today. I was paddling with my phone in a dry bag, but inevitably some water got in the bag and my phone got slightly wet. Is this probably water damage, or might it be a different problem? Any help is greatly appreciated!

It could be other damage, but since the phone got wet, that would be my first suspect. (A box of zipper sandwich baggies costs a dollar, and they make a waterproof case.)

Unless you're comfortable tearing a phone apart, I'd suggest that you bring it to a repair shop. (If you are, check the phone jack connections - use clip leads to connect a stereo headset to the proper wires on the jack. Headsets, Headphones, Handsfree - pinouts should give you the information you need. If there's a mechanical switch in the jack, plug a bare plug into the jack to activate it.)

Thank you. I gave it time and luckily the problem fixed itself.
