So I am very familiar with how to clear up storage, but this is clearly a bug. Storage screen I see that the MISC is the problem:

But once inside, there is nothing close adding up to 34 plus gigs...

Has anyone else ran into this? VZW said that I would need to factory reset... awesome. Also I have already cleared cache, reset, etc.

    Thanks!

I have the same issue. Though mine is not that much. Is about a 1 GB but same as you the things that are in there don't add up to it. I tried removing all but the one for Zedge and after a reboot of the phone it was back up to the 1 GB

Take it back to where you got it from and ask them to figure out what is wrong

Do you by chance have Dropbox installed? I recently re-download it and downloaded some videos and then it saved the videos to my phone and also a folder inside Dropbox so it took up twice the amount of space. I erased Dropbox and everything went back to normal.

Yup. These cloud storage apps download the files sometimes in two spots. One in a "cache" folder and the other in the app itself. So if you have say 5 gigs synced, 5 gigs is used by storage for "cache" purposes.

Yes I know that a factory reset would fix it but would like to track down the culprit in case it happens again. We purchased it at best buy and I am sure they would have no idea where to start.

Do you have any cloud service apps downloaded?

Spotify was the culprit for me. I accidentally enabled the offline mode and it caused 20GB worth of music to be downloaded to my phone and stored in the Misc. Files.

Yes she had Drive and Photos installed, but I tried removing them and it did not help. Not sure what else it could be. Really don't want to do a factory reset since she really hates setting up her phone again. Anyone else out there have any suggestions?

    Thanks.
