I just got the LG Urbane smartwatch and downloaded the Android Wear app like it said to. I've noticed since then that my battery life is suffering. This was from a full charge, it came off the charging doc at 3:30 am. I was losing almost 10% an hour.

This one is from today

Even battery doctor says the app is "wasteful"

But I need to have it for the watch if I want it to sync with my phone, is there anything I can do about this? Or is that just how it is with android wear?

I believe there is an issue with battery drain with Android Wear. Try a couple things, in this order if the first doesn't fix it:

1. Clear the cache of Android Wear: system settings > applications > android wear.
2. Uninstall then reinstall android wear.
3. Factory reset of your mobile and wear devices and repairing with Android Wear. Be sure to backup data and sync accounts before hand. This take a little time to set back up, so take that into consideration before doing this.

Let us now how those suggestions work.
