i have a samsung galaxy s6, and the battery is draining rapidly because for one, the light will not stay off on the home screen, it keeps coming back on and off. this is my second phone now in two months.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you have a case with a cover? If so, the magnet in the cover might be causing issues with the phone's smartcover sensor, and could be causing the screen to turn on and off inadvertently.

If you don't have a case, then try a battery monitor app like GSam, and see which apps are waking the phone up repeatedly.

I think this might be the same problem I had. It fixed itself once I booted into safe mode and then back to normal mode.

    Power the phone off.
Turn the phone back on while pressing and holding the “Volume Down” button.
Keep holding the “Volume Down” button until the Home screen loads. The lower-left corner should say “Safe Mode“.

Reboot normally to turn it off.

Try to double click the power button. It works for me.
