Based on the subject of the thread, was going to suggest a sharpie. Depending on which Email app you are talking about, there will be a setting, probably one for each Email account. Dig around.

Pretty sure stock messaging app doesn't have the option to add a signature.

Gmail does, in the settings for the account. I use K9 mail, and it does too. I would think any Email app would, as signatures have been standard fare since I started using Email in the 80's.

He is inquiring about text messages, not email.

The standard Android 5.1.1 text messaging app on my Verizon S6 has a signature setting. Yours should too, unless AT&T removed that feature, but doubt they would have. In the messaging app, go into more, then settings. It is greyed out in mine but I presume that's since I have selected Textra as my default messaging app.

AT&T and T-Mobile removed the signature option on the stock messaging app.

The only reason I could see for them to do this is to cut down on traffic, since SMS texts are sent via the voice control channel, not via LTE or 3G. If folks have even a 10 character signature it would easily double traffic for short texts, and that could place undue contention on the control channel.
