    Hi all...

My GS6 was at around 30% battery when I went to bed last night and this morning when I woke up was dead.

I plugged it into the factory fast charger and original cable, and although it gets warm to hot, it doesn't switch on or respond in any form.

The automatic backups seem to have only backed up to mid-Aug, and I have photos I would like to get off the phone from prior that date. I have no idea why the automatic backup didn't do them. A family member passed away and I have photos I would really like to have.

Is there an internal memory card, or are these memory chips attached to the board? I have the GS6 128GB edition..

Welcome to the forums. Can you try another cable/charger? If it still gets warm there may be a battery issue or even a charging port issue. Do you have any local cell phone or computer repair shops nearby?

    Many thanks for the response...

Yes I have tried my fast charger and cable from my Note Edge, with no better result. The heat is generated in the top third of the phone by the camera area, not at the bottom. The cables are both undamaged and my electricity is within spec I have checked that with a meter.

As it is under warranty - it's not even 6 months old - I think my options to have people poke around inside are limited. I will see what I can find tomorrow when they are open...

I was just wondering if Samsung designed a generic board for the S6 and then used SD style memory for each model 32/128GB for instance, or they have soldered on chips for each model. I cannot find any information about this...

Unfortunately all internal phone memory are BGA components soldered directly on the motherboard.
