multimedia message failed on reboot.

Was wondering if anybody can help with an annoying message i have displayed during the s6 start up?
"Failed to retrieve multimedia message please try later" is what it constantly displays.
As far i am aware i have deleted all old mms and have auto retrieve disabled on advice of the stage fright virus prevention,could it be that?

You should have already gotten an update patch to fix the stage fright issue. Have you tried deleting all text messages if you are able to? Have you tried wiping the messaging app cache via app manager? Try wiping system cache via recovery.

Yes I've done both of those cache wipes and still the message persists. It actually says failed to download attachment!
All my mms messages on my device are deleted. Don't want to be having to do a factory reset so it looks like i may have to put up with it.
