With all of the reports of ransomware attacking phones, I decided to extend my backup efforts beyond the basic built-in. I installed rsync Backup for Android on my GS6, and wife's GS5 and TabS.
I am familiar with rsync and Linux, and targeted the backups to a Linux desktop.
I backed up the directory /sdcard/ and everything below it. Is that sufficient, or are there any other root-level directories that I should also back up?
Side note - in case anybody is interested, it only took 5-15 minutes to backup each device, between 2 GB and 9 GB of data.
Thanks,
JimR
