(I apologize, I originally posted this question in the generic Galaxy S forum, before discovering there's one specifically for S6. I tried to deleting the old one, but don't think I have permission to delete my own post.)

I own a Galaxy S6, which I got from Sprint. I'm dumping Sprint and attempting to switch over to Straight Talk. The Straight Talk setup kit comes with instructions for both GSM and CMDA networks. It includes sim cards for either ATT or T-Mobile, and both say they may be used for unlocked phones as well.

My question is: Because the kit only includes sim cards for ATT, T-Mobile, or unlocked phones, can I simply use the non-sim CDMA setup instructions for my (Sprint) Galaxy S6 on the Straight Talk network? Without removing or switching out the existing sim card? I've read that Sprint and Verizon may use sim cards solely for 4G LTE connections, but I'm not sure if that will be effected by switching to Straight Talk and keeping the same sim card.

According to Will My Phone Work: WillMyPhoneWork.net - Check if your phone works on a network

Can a (Sprint) Galaxy S6 (w/sim card) be set up on Straight Talk as CDMA?-att-s6-willmyphonework.png

It should mostly work. It really depends on your location (which roaming partners cover in your area).
Plugging in the SIM provides the APN settings to the phone, so, I'd say you probably should try one of the SIMs, if it works, great, if not, try the other, if not, try without one at all, and hopefully be able to manually set the APN settings.

Straight Talk tells me that I can't use my Galaxy S6 with their service. So, I'm stuck using an old Verizon branded Galaxy S4 with them. Ugh.
