Why does my device keep freezing up and turning off automatically?

I got a Samsung Galaxy S6 6 months ago. Recently it began shutting off and freezing after a minute or so of use. I tried soft resetting it and hard resetting it, but the problem continues. The battery life lasts for the usual time, removing it from being the problem. Is there some other way it can be fixed, or do I need to get a new device?
